The RANDrèa Wedding: A Lake Como Masterpiece at Villa Erba

Set along the glittering waters of Lake Como, the historic Villa Erba served as the canvas for one of the year’s most extraordinary destination celebrations: The RANDrèa Wedding. For bride and creative director Andrèa Soliz, Italy has long been woven into her love story. Having previously lived in Rome, her connection to the country deepened when she and her now-husband fell in love during their first trip to Lake Como and later got engaged in Tuscany. Returning to Italy to exchange vows wasn’t just a choice, it was destiny.

“I wasn’t simply searching for a beautiful venue, I wanted a place capable of becoming part of our story,” Andrèa shares. “My goal wasn’t to compete with the venue’s beauty, but to enhance it in a way that felt intentional, luxurious, and unforgettable.”

Over a year in the making alongside The Lake Como Wedding Agency, the multi-day affair brought together an international roster of elite artisans, designers, and production specialists to create a living editorial of high-end luxury maximalism and European elegance.

A Three-Day Italian Odyssey

The festivities were designed as a three-chapter journey through Italy, with every detail thoughtfully branded using the couple’s custom RANDRÈA monogram and butterfly motif:

1. Il Gatto Nero Sunset Dinner: An intimate gathering overlooking the lake, set under the glow of more than 250 candles, offering a quiet, romantic pause before the grand weekend unfolded.

2. “A Touch of Roma” Welcome Event: A vibrant homage to the bride’s former home city. Guests were greeted by Roman centurions, velvet lounges, custom bars featuring iconic Roman imagery, and live street-style Italian entertainment.

3. The Grand Celebration at Villa Erba: A cinematic spectacle that opened with a custom fuchsia carpet and floor portraits guiding guests into the estate, building anticipation for the ceremony to follow.

The Ceremony: Ombré Florals & The Butterfly Blessing

Drawing inspiration from a romantic gazebo the couple discovered in Tuscany during their engagement, Vincenzo D’Ascanio reinterpreted the concept into a breathtaking custom altar on the edge of Lake Como. Thousands of blooms unfolded in an ombré cascade, transitioning from crisp white to soft blush, and culminating in a vibrant fuchsia, the bride’s signature color.

As ten ballerinas moved gracefully across the grounds and a tenor performed from the villa balcony, Andrèa walked down the aisle to a ceremony she wrote herself. The emotional high point of The RANDrèa Wedding arrived with the Butterfly Blessing. Accompanied by a poem written by the bride, nearly 2,000 butterflies were released into the Villa Erba gardens, symbolizing the love, transformation, and fate that defined their journey together.

As a passionate creative director, Andrèa curated five distinct looks throughout the wedding day, seamlessly transitioning from quiet editorial elegance to dramatic evening couture:

Complementing her gowns were custom diamond pieces from Pristine Jewelers, including her 22-carat emerald-cut engagement ring and an 11-carat emerald-cut eternity band. Hair stylist Massimo Guala and makeup artist Chris Richards created a radiant, soft-glam look designed to evolve effortlessly across every fashion change.

The groom wore a classic, tailored Armani tuxedo, while the bridal party mirrored the ceremony’s ombré palette in romantic shades of blush and soft pink.

Immersive Production & Gastronomy

The reception inside Villa Erba balanced historic architectural grandeur with modern production by Blunotte Eventi and NuArt Events. Cloud-like floral installations suspended above tables set with gold accents, lead crystal, and hundreds of candles created an intimate, glowing atmosphere.

Rather than pausing the celebration for dinner, the meal became an interactive performance. Between courses of an authentic multi-course Italian menu, operatic tenors, dancers, and live performers moved through the room. Signature drinks like the Amore Spritz by RANDRÈA and The Night Before Forever flowed as aerialists glided over Lake Como while fireworks lit up the night sky.

The centerpiece of the evening was an architectural wedding cake by Marc Suarez, who sculpted a detailed edible replica of Villa Erba adorned with sugar florals and delicate butterflies. The couple cut the cake to Lionel Richie’s “You Are” before joining their guests on the dance floor late into the night.
